West Virginia is a mostly rural state with high poverty, low high school graduation rates and was recently named the most depressed state in the US. The West Virginia Rural Plunge helps connect InterVarsity students to the rural poverty, environmental issues and brokenness in our state.  As students encounter these issues they will meet God and broaden their view of the gospel. Our goal is to help our students to see the marginalized in their context and to bring the God of hope to them. Spending a week in West Virginia will help students to see, experience and learn together in community in order to impact their campus, cities and states back home with the gospel.
